Donald Heath: funeral: further details

Arrangements for Donald Heath’s Funeral

Donald Heath’s funeral will take place at 12pm on Tuesday 26th March at St Edward’s Church, Romford.

The ringing arrangements are as follows:

10.30am – 12pm: General Ringing (half-muffled)
1.00 - 1.30pm: General Ringing (half-muffled)
2.00pm onwards: Quarter Peal Attempt (bells open) in thanksgiving.

The funeral will be followed by a wake with refreshments in the Church Hall..

We think that Donald learnt to ring in 1961 (aged 21).

Dennis (Ellisdon) has a good idea of his many contributions to local ringing over the following 58 years but if anyone wants to write a paragraph to contribute to the eulogy/obituary, please forward an email to clive-stephenson@sky.com.

No flowers are requested for the funeral although Liz (Rayner) is organising a floral tribute from the SW District (probably a bell).

Instead, donations in memory of Donald are going to the King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity.

Donald benefitted from treatment at both King George and Queen’s Hospitals and the charity aims to fund items such as state-of-the-art medical equipment, tranquil gardens, specialist wheelchairs, research/technology etc. etc.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the charity can make a cheque payable to ‘King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity’ and send to:
Richard Bryden (will executor)
3, King’s Road,
Romford,
Essex. RM1 2ST

There will also be the opportunity to donate on the day of the funeral.
