The Essex Association of Change Ringers   President: The Right Reverend the Lord Bishop of Chelmsford

Pat Cross

I am sorry to report that Pat Cross of Maldon, All Saints, died in hospital on 12 December 2019.

Pat was taught to ring during the last year of the war by Harry Turner at Shenfield. He married Pam (also a ringer at Shenfield) in about 1955. Pat moved to All Saints Maldon in 1966, and took over as Tower Captain from me when Yvonne and I were married in 1969, where he has been an absolute rock ever since.

Pat rang his first peal on August 9th 1947, and rang a total of 18 peals, all for the Essex Association, his last on December 21st 2001.
