Reporting the sad death of Ken Elliott, former ringer of Great Baddow

Ken Elliott died in Colchester Hospital on 7 September 2023 after a very short illness. He was a month short of his 84th birthday.

Ken was taught to ring by Peter Childs at Boreham (SE) in the early 2000s and rang at Boreham until 2012 when he transferred to his home tower of Great Baddow. Although never an advanced ringer, Ken enjoyed his ringing and spent many years going on ringing trips around the country as well as ringing for weddings, the occasional funeral, and at most of the local towers. Ken was always friendly and kind and he wanted to help everyone as much as he was able to.

On moving to Wivenhoe during the Covid Pandemic Ken decided not to continue ringing. Ken was liked by all who knew him and he'll be greatly missed by his wife Jo, his family and friends

The funeral of Ken Elliott will take place at St. Mary's, Great Baddow on Thursday 12 October 2023 at 12 noon.

The service will be followed by a short ceremony at Chelmsford Crematorium and then all meet at the Pontlands Park Hotel, https://pontlandsparkhotel.co.uk

Any ringing to be advised.

All ringing friends are welcome. Family flowers only please.

Donations if desired to St Helena Hospice, either direct at Myland Hall, Barncroft Close, Highwoods, Colchester, CO4 9JU or via T Pennack & Sons, Great Baddow, on their website: https://www.tpennackandsons.com
