There were certainly two, probably three bells in the tower at the Reformation, 1553. In 1675 they were augmented to six, and in 1892 two additional trebles were added, making a ring of eight, and also a new wooden frame installed by Bowell. In 1955 the peal was restored by John Taylor & Co of Loughborough, who recast all but the third and the tenor. When the bells were away at the foundry, the frame was treated with two coats of preservative. There is also a set of eight musical handbells which have been here for at least 60 years.
