On Saturday 13th June, an Essex band took part in the Ridgman Trophy striking competition and gained a creditable third place. The competition was held at Stowmarket, Suffolk, and was won by the home team. Five other bands also took place and I attach a photo of the Essex band (credit David Richards). The team were:
