Hello to all of you. A somewhat belated Happy New Year.
2026 is going to be an interesting year for the EACR. We have some challenges to deal with.
We still require an association secretary, although we have found how to separate the various tasks so two could work together in the role. If you are interested, but do not feel you could tackle the entire job, please contact either myself or one of the other officers. The role description is available.
After the constitutional issue we faced at the end of 2025, the immediate issue was resolved, but at the next Management Committee Meeting in February, we will hopefully be able to resolve the issue so it does not occur again.
We need to encourage association members to take on official roles, partly because we are an active association, which requires the input of its members to thrive, and also because the more ringers we have undertaking roles, the easier it is for everyone!
Arrangements for the 2026 Essex Course are well underway. We do however require a volunteer to assist in organizing the lectures, which are held at the school. We have a list available of past lecturers and their subjects, so the task is not onerous. Please contact me if you are able and willing to take on this role.
I would like to then thank all officers of the EACR for giving their time to ensure the association continues to thrive in a modern and constantly changing world. I would also like to thank the ringers who loyally ring the bells on Sunday mornings, and all those who spend many hours training new recruits. It is a job, which is often overlooked and requires many hours of patient teaching!
